Job Description:
As a web applications developer, your role is to develop and deploy automated tools, solutions, and end-to-end applications for the support of Build and Release operations activities to the end-user. You must be able to work independently, and also as part of a team, that provides operational support to a few thousand developers. Your work will involve designing data driven processes, finding client-server solutions, and working with a back-end database to support process improvements, with the goal of improving internal developer productivity. You must have an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle, be a team player, be able to communicate project status, issues, and resolutions, and have the ability to write quality specifications and end-user support documentation.
Required Skills and Experience:
-Two to five+ years professional web development experience.
-In-depth knowledge and proficiency of web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, AJAX, etc.
-Knowledge and experience with web application frameworks.
-Skills to plan, design, and create interactive and well-designed web interfaces and user interaction solutions. Ability to evaluate functional requirements and the total user experience.
-Experience coding, testing, configuring, deploying, debugging, and supporting database-driven web applications.
-Ability to work with others on the Build Operations team, and our internal customers, during all phases of development and support.
-Knowledge of web application monitoring with skills to troubleshoot and fix performance problems.
-Ability to review existing web interfaces against specified requirements, and provide productive recommendations for improvement.
-Understanding of security aspects, such as forms authentication, membership, and roles.
-Experience with coding best practices including code reviews.
-Ability to write functional and design specifications for Web applications.
-Ability to create and maintain documentation instructing users on how to use existing and future web applications.
-Knowledge of source code control.
-Database and SQL experience.
-Advanced knowledge of Perl.
-Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language.
-Experience working in Windows and Unix environments.
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
