The market for mobile video advertising is growing rapidly, driven by the increasing penetration of smartphones and tablet devices, resulting in explosive growth in usage of ad-supported applications and mobile websites. Video is the fastest growing segment of that explosion.
Rhythm NewMedia is about to enter a major growth period and we're looking for extraordinary engineers. You´ll join a small team of engineers involved in every step of development including testing and design. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact with a company that is a recognized innovator in the mobile video ad industry.
Oh and BTW, if you're a "smart" Perl or Python developer, we would consider you for this position if you're open to learning Ruby.
We're interested in talking with you if:
- You have at least one year of Ruby on Rails experience.
- You're keen on using RoR, Javascript and HTML/CSS standards to build clean, easy-to-use interfaces.
- You love writing clean code and are confident your code will stand up well when reviewed by your peers.
- You dream about large and complex datasets and understand data structures and algorithms that great software engineers use.
- You would rather work with a small, elite team rather than a large conventional one.
- You're bright (figuratively), interested (literally), and inventive.
- You have designed, deployed, and supported at least one large RoR application with a significant user base.
- You know how to deploy RoR applications (you can give useful advice on Mongrel clusters, Passenger, lighthttpd, Rack etc.).
- You are extremely comfortable working at a Unix or SQL prompt.
- You aren't scared to wander into the world of mobile web browsers!
- You are passionate about programming and love the feeling of finding the right solution to a hard problem.
Our office is located in beautiful downtown Mountain View, surrounded by fabulous restaurants and just blocks away from CalTrain.
