Overview

We´re looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Product Manager to lead and revolutionize future releases of our Enterprise Career Management web applications. RiseSmart is the leader in technology-powered outplacement services, focusing on innovative and advanced technology to help companies going through reduction events give something back to their employees. Our proprietary platform enables a human-powered search infrastructure that allows us to hand-pick and tailor jobs to those in need while providing tools, to help accelerate the time to their next job.
We are looking for someone to join the Product Management team to drive the next evolution of our platform and future applications in the pipeline; think engineer meets strategist. We´re an HR technology & internet start-up that blends social media, semantic technology, career expertise and an innovative business process to provide a valuable service.

Responsibilities:

• Transform raw ideas into web application requirements for both external and internal platforms
• Bring together input and feedback from customers, sales and marketing teams into creating and authoring market requirements document (MRD) and product requirements document (PRD) for the product offering
• Participate as a hands-on resource in delivering all aspects of the product from concept to working with UI designers to developers on implementation
• Conduct competitive analysis and develop a strong understanding of the industry and our partners to identify opportunities to improve products
• Creation and definition of innovative product and customer experience concepts in partnerships with an extended team of designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams that will ultimately support the product implementation (e.g. operations, customer service, etc.)
• Review usability test results, track online usability bugs and define areas for constant enhancement and optimization within the user experience
• Defining the use-cases for the workflows involved in the product

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years as a product manager in software development, including strategic level experience
• Demonstrated strong performance in previous roles with execution, problem solving skills, resourcefulness and creativity
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership for end-to-end product lifecycle
• Keen technical understanding and knowledge in backend web scripting languages such as Java and JavaScript, as well as understanding of HTML and CSS
• Proficient in prototyping skills to convey ideas and concepts
• Good analytical, quantitative reasoning skills
• Possess people management skills to motivate, lead, and manage a team of product managers and designers
• Must have an acute attention to detail
• Functions well in collaborative environment
• Willingness to roll up sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintain composure and sense of humor
• Relevant BA/BS required
• Willing to travel: < 10 %

Bonuses (not required but nice to have):

• Experience working in a HR technology or internet startup environment
• Understanding of user centered design principles along with experience in Adobe or other design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, etc.)
• Basic understanding of statistics and data visualization techniques.
• MBA or advanced degree
