Summary of Position:
The Studio Tools Department is responsible for developing and maintaining Pixar's in-house, movie-production software. This position assists in the enhancement and maintenance of Pixar´s software development tools and process. This role requires the ability to work as a team in an agile, customer oriented environment, to solve problems and implement high quality solutions. This position also requires close attention to detail, good communication skills with initiative, self-guidance and the ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain internal tools, systems, and web services:
- Process scheduling
- Product configuration
- Release and build automation
- Compile farm
- IAAS and virtualization farm
- Develop or enhance GUI and command line utilities for engineering, production, and QA to improve the overall development workflows
- Maintain special purpose RPM distributions for the development environment and enhance the tools around that system
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Must have at least 5+ years experience in build infrastructure, systems administration, and/or
- Unix software development, particularly in the following areas:
- Python proficiency
- C/C++ experience
- Parallels, VMware, KVM, or other virtualization technologies
- MySQL, Oracle, or Sybase database development
- HTML, Javascript, CSS experience helpful
- Twisted, Zope, Tornado, or Django experience a plus
- Perforce, Git, CVS, RCS or Subversion revision control systems
- RPM, APT, or similar package management
- Strong familiarity in Linux or similar OS
- Agile development experience a plus
