Wind River Systems has a great opportunity for a Senior Engineer in our Technical Support team to work with Wind River Simics, a full system simulator used by developers to simulate the target hardware of everything from a single processor to large, complex and connected electronic systems. The candidate we are seeking will have a background in embedded software, firmware and hardware. The candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and possess a strong desire and ability to work with customers to provide best practice advice and resolve complex technical problems.

Please note: this is not an IT/System Admin/Help desk role. Nor is it a Product Development role, however strong programming skills are required.

Duties:

•Provide technical customer support on Wind River Simics and other Wind River products.
•Communicate proactively and effectively with customers at all levels of management to resolve technical problems
•Work with account teams on customer issues
•Document customer issues and resolutions accurately and thoroughly
•Develop technical content for online support site
•Participate in support process improvement activities

Requirements:

•Programming skills in C/C+, DML, Python required.
•Understanding of drivers, firmware, BSP's required.
•Comfortable with the UNIX and Windows development environment, source code control.
•Experience with working in Virtual environment preferred, including model creation, debugging and troubleshooting using embedded system tools.
•Understanding of hardware bring-up of 32/ 64 bit processors including dual/ multi core processors and ability to read and understand programmer's reference manuals for hardware devices a must. Understanding of digital systems and how various components operate and interact with each other (examples are CPU, memory, UARTs, DMA controllers, Ethernet, USB etc.)
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Self-motivated, independent and comfortable working directly with customers (both technical and non-technical)
•BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
