Senior Product Manager - Sunnyvale, CA

Proofpoint is looking for an experienced Product Manager to manage our solutions in the evolving messaging security market. This position is ideal for a hands-on individual who likes to shape an idea, lead cross functional projects from concept through implementation and develop significant revenue streams. If you have razor-sharp instincts about what makes a good product, are passionate about customer experience and possess a strong orientation on exceeding expectations, this is the role for you.
Successful candidates must have significant experience in email and security products. Experience in entrepreneurial environments, with service providers, and software as a service is highly desired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the product and business requirements
- Translate customer needs into clearly defined and detailed product requirements via MRDs, and PRDs
- Incorporate competitive and market feedback from customers and partners
- Analyze the market opportunity and competitive landscape, and provide revenue forecasts
- Develop product offerings/packages in conjunction with product marketing
- Align customer support offerings with product capabilities
- Work closely with engineering, QA and operations to scope, plan and deliver new releases
- Manage the team through the product development processes to ensure product releases are on time and on budget
- Actively track the development schedule, prioritize changes as needed, collect and document issues
- Establish, and own relationships with external technology partners
- Work with cross functional teams to drive product line financials and customer satisfaction
- Define successful go-to-market approaches by partnering with sales and marketing teams
- Engage with sales team in sales activities
- Assist product marketing with sales tools, training and collateral
- Partner with the customer support organizations to increase their effectiveness
Requirements:
- Bachelor´s degree in technical field, with high academic achievement, MBA highly desired
- 8+ years managing high technology products, from development through launch
- Strong understanding of security technologies
- History of accomplishments and initiative
- Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets and deadlines consistently
- Ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision
