MiddleWare Specialist (Operation System + Middleware Application Support)

In this role you will be using your operating system administration and middleware application skills when supporting and consulting on the client's application projects. Additionally you will manage the environmental setup, configuration support, application deployment, and application migration. If you enjoy providing technical assistance when resolving production problems, then this is the job for you!

Highlights of Responsibilities:

·Operating System support including: configuration support, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, security, performance monitoring and resolution, as well as optimizing and securing environments based on industry and system standards.
·Middleware application support including: application deployment, configuration support, troubleshooting, setting up new environments, migration from development to QA and production, disaster recovery, security, performance monitoring and resolution, and optimizing and securing environments based on industry and system standards.

Note: Work will entail periodic weekend, after-hour, and remote work.

Qualifications:
·7+ years experience installing, configuring, and patching UNIX/Linux operating systems such as IBM AIX, Oracle Solaris and Red Hat Linux
·2+ years experience installing, configuring, and patching application servers such as JBoss, WebSphere or Tomcat
·Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues, analyze problems, and resolve them in a self directed manner
·Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel across multiple functional areas and locations
·Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under strict deadlines and as part of an after-hours on--all rotation
·Good verbal and oral communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to document complex systems and effectively relay this information to team members and customers. As part of a 4-5 person team, candidate will be expected to collaborate with other staff, including presenting and documenting activities to ensure effective mentoring and knowledge transfer.

Desired Skills:
·Experience installing and configuring ConnectDirect, Control M and WebSphere MQ
·Experience installing and configuring products like or similar to Splunk, Nessus, Zimbra and Zend
·Experience using CA Wily Introscope or other diagnostic tools
·Experience integrating back-end systems utilizing JMS, JDBC, and LDAP
·Strong understanding of shell scripting with emphasis on Bash; JAVA application deployment and maintenance and of application server load balancing and fail-over
·Microsoft Windows Server support experience
·Microsoft SharePoint experience and Amazon Cloud Administration.
