Product Manager – Safe and Secure Platforms

Location: SF Bay Area, San Diego or Ottawa, Ontario

Wind River is looking for a Product Manager to work on Wind River's safe and secure real-time operating systems and partitioning products. The successful candidate must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy. The candidate will work with the team to develop product strategy, define technical requirements, enable the sales organization, and contribute to marketing activities. He or she must enjoy spending time in the marketplace to understand customer problems and working closely with engineering to define innovative solutions to complex problems.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of proven high-level achievement in product management or equivalent field experience. The individual will be technical and experienced in articulating complex concepts to customers as well as interacting with engineering on technical topics.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Developing requirements for current and future products
· Discussing and negotiating technical requirements with engineering
· Work with Product Marketing to create and deliver content for outbound marketing including white papers and webinars
· Contribute to developing and implementing go-to-market plans
· Support sales and marketing efforts as required including some travel

Required Experience and Skills:

· Minimum two years experience in Product Management or Product Marketing Management (or equivalent relevant experience)
· Familiarity with safety standards (such as IEC-61508 and DO0178B/C) and certification processes
· Several years embedded software development experience
· Highly organized, detail-oriented and possessing a high level of integrity
· Exceptional team player that works well in collaborative situations
· Ability to multi-task and follow-through on multiple projects and programs
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Experience with real-time & multi-core technologies
· Strong knowledge of RTOS such as VxWorks
· Strong knowledge of Linux as it pertains to embedded devices
· Experience with virtualization and partitioning technologies considered an asset
· Experience with security and security standards considered an asset
· Understanding of embedded hardware architectures including Intel, Power, and ARM
· Technical degree (EE or CS), MBA a plus
