Wind River is looking for a senior staff level embedded developer to join a team of people with a passion for developing state-of-the-art high-performance Type1 hypervisors for Intel and ARM based systems. The candidate will be a part of the Alameda, California based hypervisor team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing Wind River hypervisor on Intel and/or ARM CPU architecture families.
Core team is located in Alameda and candidate may work remotely up to 2 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Understand feature requirements, collaborate with highly technical team on your design
- Coding, performance tuning, usability contributing to a high quality product
- Develop a plan for your feature from requirement through integration
Requirements:
- 10+ years experience in system software development with excellent hands-on experience developing low-level kernel software in C and assembly language, Intel and/or ARM. Software and hardware virtualization experience is highly desirable.
- Low level programming experience in OS kernels
- MMU experience (page fault handling, linux process model / copy-on-write, optimization)
- Exception handling experience (writing or optimizing abort handlers or interrupt handlers)
- Interrupt handling
- SMP/multicore experience
- Development experience in kernel level device drivers and layers above the drivers is highly desirable but not mandatory
- Ability to participate in complex technical discussions and initiatives
- Cross-development experience in Windows and/or Linux/Unix environments
- Ability to work in a distributed team environment
- BSEE/BSCS/BSCE in Computer Science or equivalent. MSCS/MSEE/MSCE is an asset
