Vocera is seeking a Wireless Automation Engineer to automate the testing procedure for Vocera and third party wireless equipment vendors. This individual will assist in wireless client diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

-Identifies, reproduces, and isolates bugs found via debugging and performance analysis tools
-Assists in corporate wireless client troubleshooting
-Analyzes client logs and assists support by utilizing basic debugging techniques
-Designs and executes tests for compatibility of 3rd party access points and controllers such as Meru, Cisco, Aruba, and Motorola
-Develops customized test tools between site visits for use by the engineering team, Support teams, and may be rolled into the product line to allow customers to perform self-diagnostics
-Learns the Vocera product line and applies their existing WLAN knowledge to understanding the complex interactions between the two

Education, Skills & Experience
-Must have 3-5 years professional experience
-Extensive experience with 802.11 protocols and using tools onsite to identify both customer site and product issues
-B.S. CS or EE engineering degree
-Specific experience with VoWLAN/VoIP, a plus
-In-depth knowledge of authentication and encryption protocols such as PEAP, LEAP, WEP, WPA, and WPA2
-Familiarity with several of the AP vendor solutions and awareness of the differences in the major chip sets that are available
-Strong communication and organizational skills, both verbal and written
-Experience and working knowledge of network analysis and debugging tools like sniffers Omnipeek & Wireshark, Load generators including iperf/ixChariot/SmartBits
-Scripting efficiency in java, python, and perl preferably in a QA environment
-Experience with C++, Embedded Linux, highly desired
