CQ Roll Call seeks a Unix/Network Administrator tomonitor the operations and performance of CQ-Roll Call networks and systems, including servers, routers, firewalls and other mission-critical devices. Manage and monitor the virtual servers using vmware´s vCenter. Work with a team to support the systems and network infrastructure of CQ-Roll Call´s public and business environments. Opportunity to develop skills in the engineering and operations of networked systems and database infrastructure, including the following activities: enterprise systems, network, web, database management, network attached storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN), security, wireless networks, and capacity planning. Accountable For: *Monitoring system performance, including uptime of all client web sites, networks and services. *Performing system installations, configurations, hardware and software upgrades, and software maintenance activities. *Developing and maintaining documentation of system configurations, policies and procedures required for disaster recovery planning. *Providing second level customer/helpdesk support for network related issues. *Providing training and technical assistance to development and support teams. *Monitoring performance operations of key CQ Roll Call systems, including uptime of services and the state of database servers, load balancers, web servers and other key network components. *Recommends system changes when new technologies or architectures are right for the organization. *Automate process and maintenance using scripting languages and other tools. *Administer Apache-based web servers. *Assess security of existing and proposed systems. Recommend and implement proactive plans to resolve vulnerabilities. *Maintaining weekly report of completed tasks, projects and issues, including estimates of time spent on each project. *Other duties as assigned.
