[KITlist-Tech] CONTR: Software Configuration Manager (Build/Release) (San Jose, Raleigh, CA, NC)

Title: Software Configuration Manager
Location: San Jose, CA (Work from home opportunity)
Duration: 6+ months contract, renewed quarterly

The Software Configuration Manager is responsible for:
(a) administrating the engineering support systems such as Hudson, Subversion, and Nexus;
(b) facilitating the branching and tagging of version control system content, particularly as it applies to release preparation;
(c) preparing releases by ensuring the proper state of Ant and Maven build scripts and the state of version control branches or tags relevant to the release work; and
(d), enforcing SCM standards. In essence, the SCM is an engineer dedicated to quality and organization of project software artifacts as they relate to product construction and versioning.

The following skills and characteristics are considered essential and only minor deviations from this list will be considered:

Be proactive, self-confident, and unafraid to enforce process among a variety of technical and business teams. (This persons job is to ensure that version control systems, builds, and releases are correct and if something isn't correct, they will absolutely ensure that it becomes so.)
Demonstrate at all times an amazing attention to detail and a desire for things to be done the proper way.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Subversion, Hudson, and Nexus administration.
Be highly skilled in branching, tagging, and release preparation for Ant and Maven projects using Subversion.
Be highly skilled in Ant, Maven, Bash shell, and MS DOS shell scripting.
Demonstrate solid English communication skills, both written and oral.
