Distributed Information Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Help develop our huge, multi-tiered information management and retrieval infrastructure
- Design and implement scalable, time-critiical information retrieval and management services for our consumer-facing end-products
- Formulate strategies, evangelize technologies and lead company-wide architectural changes
- Provide training and support for our supported technologies
- Hands on coding of the underlying foundation frameworks and services

Qualifications:
- BS/MS in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
- 7+ year´s overall development experience.
- 4+ year´s enterprise infrastructure software experience.
- Strong knowledge of messaging and asynchronous architectures.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure software architectural and design issues.
- Effective at architecting complex interactions across several subsystems to resolve real-world issues, articulating the architecture and obtaining buy-in from other teams.
- Solid with Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD) Deep systems-level programming skills in Java/C++ (not just application layer experience).
- Experience developing middleware systems and/or distributed system software is preferred. Experience with Lucene and Hadoop, as well as Map/Reduce framework for distributed processing is a plus.
- Works well in a team environment and be able to effectively drive cross-team solutions that have complex dependencies and requirements.
