Responsibilities:
- Overall ownership of all our web / ecommerce / back-end engineering
- Lead a small team of talented engineers
- Lead the architectural design and direction of the main software architectures required for our core products
- Hands on coding of the underlying foundation frameworks and services

Qualifications:
- BS/MS/Ph.D. In electrical engineering, computer science, or a related filed
- 7+ years of application development experience
- 3+ years in direct management and/or technical leadership role
- Excellent Java knowledge and object oriented architecture
- Deep knowledge of the Java platform and optimization/performance
- Proven experience in high traffic, large scale web services/applications
- Broad knowledge of object-oriented technologies and designs and web services
- Solid understanding of database structure and shading technologies, experience in data migration a plus
- Shipped at least 2 major releases of a large scale system
- Fluent in SQL and Object Relational Mapping techniques (Hibernate, Cayenne or Apple Enterprise Object Frameworks)
- Web Services integration with desktop client: XML-RPC/SOAP/Thrift or other remote procedure call systems
- HTTP/HTML deep knowledge caching techniques, performance improvement
- 5+ years of HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Ajax and dynamic page generation
- 4+ years of UNIX knowledge and usage
- Messaging bus/queuing system experience and integration with existing applications
