Responsible for operations of a company's internal data communications systems, including LANs and/or WANs. Plans, designs, and implements networked systems, including configurations; supporting/troubleshooting network problems; coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as routers, bridges, concentrators, and switches; project implementation; providing training and assisting with proposal writing. Responsible for project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons. May research and evaluate emerging network and communication technology.

1. Core Nortel Routers Management
2. SSL Concentrator Management (Nortel & Juniper)
3. VPN Concentrator Management (Nortel)
4. Infrastructure Design and Planning
5. Juniper / Cisco Firewall Management
6. Project Implementation of Infrastructure Components
7. Day to Day Management of Network Components
Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variance factors.
Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems.
Education/Training – 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
Business Experience – 8+ years experience in the operations of a company's internal data communications systems, including LANs and/or WANs
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
Specialized knowledge of the planning, design, implementation and troubleshooting of networked systems
Extensive knowledge with Nortel Routing/Switching Equipment
Extensive knowledge with Nortel/Juniper SSL/VPN Devices
Extensive knowledge of Security Protocols
Extensive knowledge with Nortel/Trapeze Wireless System
Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft DNS
Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft DHCP/Scope Management
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Radius Management
Advanced knowledge with Cisco Pix Firewalls, Juniper Firewalls
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications - Visio, Excel and Word
Experience with WebSense Appliance
