We are looking for talented software engineers to join us in revolutionizing the digital music customer experience. The MP3 store for which we develop software is available on a number of websites and platforms worldwide. The software we develop is also available on the Android platform as well as other mobile platforms, and on phones from T-Mobile, Palm, Motorola, HTC, Samsung, etc. This MP3 store is also accessible through our partners: YouTube, Pandora, Last.fm, MySpace, etc.
A2Z Development Center Inc. is a subsidiary of Amazon.com Inc. and is located in the heart of the financial district in San Francisco, California. A2Z Development Center, Inc. also develops software for the MP3 store on www.amazon.com.
Position Overview
- You will be responsible for improving the functionality, efficiency, and scalability of the backend catalog services of our digital music store.
- You will be developing in Java using world-class service-oriented infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services.
- You will have full participation in operating the services, including defining and monitoring the SLA and other metrics, and participating in the on-call rotation.
- You will be interacting and cooperating with other developers at A2Z Development Center, Inc. and affiliated companies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor´s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2+ years of Java development experience
- Developer-level knowledge of SQL
- Experience in Shell, Perl, Python, PHP, or Ruby
- Experience working in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master´s Degree in Computer Science
- 2+ years professional software development experience
- 4+ years of Java development experience
- Knowledge of Linux, Apache, J2EE, XML, web services, the internet protocols, and distributed systems
- Excellent developer-level knowledge of SQL
- Good scripting skills and experience in Shell, Perl, Python, PHP, or Ruby
- A proven ability to learn and adapt to new, complex development environments
- Superb analytical skills, excellent communication, strong team ethic, and attention to details
