Job Title : R&D Mechanical Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Assignment Length: 12 months

Job Description:
We are looking for your talent in mechanical engineering. Typical responsibilities for this position include the following:
Collaborate with project lead on the development, fabrication, and characterization of instruments.
Participate in the development of novel architecture for next generation IR spectroscopy systems.
Present results of your research in regular program reviews to the broader technical staff, and business unit collaborators.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 yrs. relevant industry experience
Experience in the mechanical design and assembly of high precision optical systems
Expertise in the use of contemporary design and simulation tools (CoCreate)
Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills
Strong analytical skills and decision making ability
Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary project team

The following additional skills/experiences are highly desired:
Masters or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
Specific experience with the design and characterization of infrared spectroscopy systems
Track record of success in mechanical design of commercial instrumentation
Experience with thermal design/management principles
