Our client is located in San Francisco, CA and is backed by substantial venture funding from Khosla Ventures, First Round Capital, Ron Conway and Baseline Ventures, Atomico Investments, Y Combinator and several angel investors.
They are quickly expanding and looking for a Server Engineer / Web Architect who can help lay the foundation for their growing server team. Ideally you´ve worked with LAMP, live and breathe a flavor of Linux, and know how to structure code in a team setting. This is a high growth opportunity position and it will be challenging.
Responsibilities:
* Implement and deliver the server side components of our various WEB presences.
* Define and architect our store front, our tracking systems and our various proxies.
* Establish protocols and APIs that can integrates with the major social networks.
* Work on the integration with various third party billing systems.
* Define and maintain the online and data warehouse MySQL databases.
Qualifications:
* 6+ years of experience as a software developer (internships count)
* 2+ years with PHP/MySQL/Apache in a real production environment.
* 2+ years experience working on a server side team of 3 or more.
* 2+ years experience with HTML, CSS, JQuery
* You must believe that test driven development is good.
* Project Management Skills demonstrated by the ability to break down larger tasks (2 man months) into smaller ones and then deliver on time while tracking progress.
* Knowledge of APT, Python, Javascript, Memcached, JSON, ORMs, WSGI and ROR is a plus
* Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred
* Willingness to run Outlook (inside of a VM ok)
