Responsibilities:
•Coordinate, lead, and conduct technical activities for the UNIX/SAN team
•Liaise with other departments within the company
•Perform in-depth research on new technologies
•Monitor day-to-day activities and recommend & implement process improvements
•Perform capacity planning and performance monitoring of servers and applications
•Provide metrics and status reporting around system performance and availability
•Install, configure, and maintain network operating systems, custom applications, and peripherals
•Test and implement new hardware; test, implement and upgrade application software releases
•Ensure system stability, scalability, security and performance requirements
•Diagnose, solve and deliver root cause analysis for infrastructure issues and troubleshoot complex system-level problems between servers and applications
•Ensure supported platforms comply with security and audit compliance mandates
•Maintain and validate current Disaster Recovery processes and procedures
•Participate in 24 x 7 on-call support rotation

Qualifications:
•Minimum 5 years experience LINUX/UNIX system administration in a production environment
•Experience with a wide range of open-source programs and utilities, such as BIND, squid, syslog, SNMP, Cacti, Apache, postfix, etc.
•Understanding of TCP/IP networking
•Hardware and peripheral installation, configuration and maintenance on server-class equipment
•Ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple projects
•Ability to manage technical projects both within the team and across multiple teams
•Ability to communicate with all levels of staff both orally and in writing; attention to detail required
•ITIL and /or Lean Six Sigma Certifications a plus

Technical Skills:
•SuSE Enterprise Linux and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux
•AIX, P-Series with HMC a plus
•VMware a plus
•SAN storage experience
•Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager a plus
•Shell scripting
•Exposure to Oracle databases
