Job Summary
The Sr. Business Analyst will be working with the IT Decision Support Systems team to maintain and develop reporting solutions for the Bookings BI line of business. This will entail developing custom reports and dashboards, ensuring the current solution is maintained accordingly and enhancing this to meet the business needs. The reporting solutions will be Oracle OBIEE based, using SQL back-end data warehouses/databases & Informatica workflows for data management / manipulation. This role will work heavily with the Field Finance and Human Resources organization on global reporting projects and ensuring global consistency with report and business information definition. Predominant reporting requirements are transactional based, reporting on Bookings, Discounts, Human Resources, and Commissions.
Responsibilities
•Act as the primary contact for the DSS team for Bookings BI reporting requirements
•Translate business requirements into functional design solutions, support development, testing and release activities
•Create OBIEE reports & dashboards for the Field Finance and Human Resource Operations organization
•Help the business make sense of the numbers. Formulate and present relevant actionable recommendations
•Report and analyze data to help various teams – Field Finance, Bookings, Human Resources, and Commissions - Discern relevant business trends and opportunities and also measure and improve execution. Focus on Bookings, as well as Discounts, Pricing, Commissions, etc…
•Adhere to the IT SDLC and ensure the Bookings business follows required processes and standards
•Work closely with the IT Development team to proactively identify risks to the project schedule, documentation needs, and project deliverables
•Provide support for the current reporting dashboard solutions, including data warehouse management, query modifications, email, etc
•Work with various operations teams to understand processes and source systems underlying the data. Provide insights and recommendations for addressing data issues
•Continuous development of standard reporting tools to support the ever changing requirements of the business
•Provide data analysis support for data warehouse, ETL, and OBIEE reporting layers
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
•Oracle EDW, ETL, and OBIEE reporting working knowledge
•Must have minimum 3-5 years of BA/DA experience within a highly dynamic corporate environment with IT, Sales, Finance & Operations organizations
•Must have strong experience in Field Sales Finance and Accounting
•Must have working experience of ETL tool preferably Informatica
•Must have working experience on BI tool preferably OBIEE (oracle business intelligence)
•Well versed with PowerPoint/Excel and Dashboard Reports
•Strong communication skills, IT and business orientated
•Strong skills in documentation of functional business requirements and user processes
•Ability to work, collaborate and lead a team to support deadlines
•This individual will apply the experiences in solving problems that are unique and extremely complex given the time, budget and time constraints
•Knowledge of SQL and OBIEE & Oracle Answers
•Knowledge of Oracle EBS
•Knowledge of Tableau is a plus
•Attention to detail and strong personal organizational skills and able to work in fast, paced, high volume environment
•Experience working in an onshore – offshore model with teams from different time zones and cultures
Education and Experience
•A minimum of 5 years of financial analyst experience including 3 years of data warehouse and BI experience in a large scale enterprise data warehouse environment
•Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree is required
