Platform Lead Developer

- Primary responsibility is to design and develop the packaging and deployment of a high transactional application along with the Linux OS (Red Hat or Ubuntu) on a physical appliance or in a virtualized environment.

Necessary expertise includes
- knowledge of packaging using Red Hat RPMs into an OS Distribution like an ISO or Virtual Machine formats that can be deployed in customer environments in as seamless a manner as possible.
- Experience in packaging of the application including Java artifacts in an application model deployment is a requirement.

Necessary background includes
- strong command of Linux, Linux and OS distribution packaging like RPM, good understanding of vmware and the creation and management of software appliances with vmware.
- Scripting languages, Bourne Shell and Perl, is a requirement.
- Strong user level networking and Linux skills are very important.

Pluses include
- knowledge of Oracle or MySQL and its deployment, Packaging of Java artifacts, J2EE, JBOSS infrastructure, OS Security, feature design and development, C/C++, SNMP.

Experience:
- must include a minimum five years and delivery of multiple products.

Education:
- Masters degree in Computer Science strongly preferred.

Location:- San Jose, CA
Full time:- Permanent
