Our client offers advanced security technology in a fast emerging market and is one that is a leader in their space. The company offers products and services to one of the most high profile areas of focus of security in the world today that are sold to Fortune 500 companies and many others. The company is experiencing enormous growth and is now seeking a candidate with a security consulting/advisory background for this exciting opportunity:


Position title: Security Consultant/Security Advisor
Location: Any major metro city across the U.S.




Position description/responsibilities:

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced consultant with great customer facing skills to help customers assess, design, and build their own advanced threat detection capability. The qualified candidate will possess strong consulting skills, be adept in leading multiple projects under tight deadlines, and possess in-depth experience in security event monitoring, cyber threat intelligence, and/or computer incident response. In this role the candidate will assess customers' existing capability in collecting, analyzing, escalating, and responding to cyber-attacks, and deliver short and long-term strategic solutions.



Required Skills:

3-5+ years in the area of information security with in-depth experience in the area of cyber security, intrusion detection, threat detection, etc. collecting, analyzing, and escalating security events; responding to computer security incidents, and/or collecting, analyzing, and disseminating cyber threat intelligence.
Experience with the critical tools used in security event analysis, incident response, computer forensics, malware analysis, or other areas of security operations.
Strong and thorough understanding of traditional security operations, event monitoring, and SIEM tools
Possess strong knowledge of tools and technologies used for enterprise security
Understanding of the components that comprise a successful information security program
Deliver succinct and fact-based communications, both verbally and in writing
Successfully interface and establish rapport with clients
Communicate the value proposition of complex subjects to clients
Use formal project management skills in planning, tracking, and reporting on project progress
Evaluate customer needs, coordinate design for a solution, and clearly communicate solutions
Fundamental understanding of network protocols
Familiarity with Unix and Windows operating systems and administrative tools
Understanding of security controls for common platforms and devices, including Windows, Linux and network equipment
Must be a US citizen
Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%
Minimum of three years in information security
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent work experience)


Candidates of interest to us are those with any strong cyber security, intrusion detection, security information and event management(SIEM), threat management/analysis, vulnerability, incident response, etc. backgrounds. These may come from companies such as IBM, H-P/Arcsight, Secureworks, Sourcefire, Netwitness, Q1 Labs, RSA Security, Tenable Security, netForensics, etc. or any of the many others in this space.
