Senior Customer Support Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide all tiers of technical support to customers and resellers.
Interface between Sales and Engineering to drive customer issues to resolution.
Occasional assistance with setup of appliance software and hardware.
He/she would be supporting Customer queries in area of storage resolution
He/She would be working on Windows and Linux operating systems

Skills
• Ability to diagnose and reproduce complex technical issues, involving hardware and software (Windows/Linux)
• Good telephone and written communication skills
• Strong Windows server administration skills.
• Good working knowledge of Windows applications/subsystems Exchange, SQL, AD, VSS and the Registry.
• Good General knowledge of Linux administration, CLI and how to perform common tasks.
• Comfortable with common Unix utilities like sed, grep, SSH and TAR.
• General knowledge of IP network configuration including switching, routing, VPNs and VLANs.
• Understand basic concepts of virtualization.
• Working with integrated hardware/software (appliances)
• Some experience using a Windows backup product
• .

• 5+ years experience providing technical support to end users and IT professionals. Preferably in small company or start-up environments.
• BS degree – may involve occasional on call or late evening rotation
