Senior Data Services Consultant ( Prefer San Francisco based will consider well qualified candidates outside of SF. travel can be 50% plus)
Responsibilities:
The Senior Data Services Consultant plays a critical role in our customer implementations resulting in a successful transition to our hosted environment. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys the challenge of both designing and building the data services architecture between our customer environment and our hosted SaaS application. It involved working with smart customers to make a mission-critical solution a reality. Customer contacts are primarily in the IT, marketing, sales, finance and business operations organizations of large (Fortune 1000) enterprise customers.
Detailed Responsibilities Include:
· Technical consulting: Work on-site with customers´ IT and business staff to understand their business and architect a solution using SignalDemand´s science-based software to radically improve their business performance
· Work with the customer´s IT staff using an industry-leading data integration platform to obtain necessary data for both initial analysis/configuration and ongoing processing in the SignalDemand environments
· Data integration and onsite technical consulting
· Strong project management skills are required
· Excellent team work skills to quickly establish strong working relationships with customer contacts as well as SignalDemand peers
· Strong communications skills suitable for customer communications by phone, email, and in-person
· Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal management direction, handling customer challenges real-time as they arise
· Interface with engineering and product management to provide customer feedback and insight to improve product solution
· Ensure smooth transition to support and operations, with detailed configuration documentation
· An interest in understanding and supporting sophisticated science based forecasting and enterprise optimization models
Minimum Requirements:
· Strong communication skills, with an ability to express complex business concepts in technical terms via presentation and written form.
· Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and reliably achieve goals
· Solid understanding of software technologies including but not limited to Unix command line and scripting, networking concepts, data modeling, and ETL
· Mathematically strong bachelor's degree (scientific, business or technical major) or equivalent experience.
· Strong SQL skills including 3+ years experience with an enterprise class database system such as Oracle, DB2, Teradata, or SQLServer.
· Ability and willingness to follow established processes and procedures as well as ability to pioneer and achieve results when no relevant processes and procedures exist
´ Some travel to customer sites required during initial configuration and deployment phases. Some travel expected to San Francisco HQ should candidate be remote
Desirable Experience:
· 3+ years configuring IT software market
· Experience configuring products which leverage optimization models
· Some understanding of price and supply optimization concepts and toolsets; deep understanding and demonstrated experience strongly preferred
· Experience with enterprise class business intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy, Cognos, or Business Objects
· Experience with enterprise class ETL tools such as Informatica, Data Stage, or SAS
· Prior experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Control
