TITLE: Sr. Embedded SW Engineer/Win Phone 8 Driver

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client is an established public company who is one of the leaders in next generation Wireless LAN platforms. Wi-Fi-based products are growing very rapidly and their WLAN software enables innovative solutions in mobile devices, consumer electronics, PCs, Access Points, broadband routers and much more. To help support this growth, they are seeking an experienced, energetic, and driven embedded engineer excited about 802.11 wireless networking, network protocols and embedded systems. Specifically this Engineer will develop drivers and applications for Win Phone 8.

Specific duties include:
Develop drivers and applications targeting popular mobile phone operating systems such as Windows Phone.
Responsible for the architecture and development of features for firmware, host drivers and applications.
Involved in low level hardware bring-up and debugging of the firmware and drivers.
Make optimizations for power and memory footprints on the firmware and host drivers/software.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
BS/MS required.
5-7 years of relevant experience.
Strong C programming skills mandatory.
Must have strong system software experience.
Prior experience with ARM architecture is required.
Knowledge about networking concepts is expected and networking driver experience is highly desired.
Must have a thorough knowledge of common industry standard buses, with emphasis on SDIO and USB.
Understanding of hardware issues, working with hardware engineers with bus and logic analyzers is mandatory.
Device driver and system level experience with Windows Driver Model(WDM) for XP/Windows Embedded Standard, or Windows Driver Foundation(WDF) for Vista/Windows 7 is required.
Must have mastered OS concepts of:DMA engines, interrupts, Interrupt Handling, Global Interrupt Handling, Timers, Memory Virtualization, process vs. threads, IPC, user space vs. kernel space, race conditions and perimeter locking.

DESIRED SKILLS:
Chip bringup experience.
Phone 7 is highly desirable but not a requirement.
Network Driver Interface Specification(NDIS) model experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge on power saving techniques for embedded devices is highly desirable.
Device driver and system level experience with Windows Mobile/WinCE(Windows Embedded CE)/Windows Embedded Standard/Windows.
Experience with ARM platforms, tools and understanding ARM assembly highly desirable.
THUMB modes, usage of profilers, OS/driver porting to ARM desirable.
