The Engineering team at Marin Software is tasked with delivering this platform. Technical challenges range from computation-intensive analytic systems, to message queuing, to web API integration, to machine-learning bid optimization algorithms. Organized by functional areas, our full-time engineers are typically depth-heavy in their respective team's focus.

The Build Engineer: Platform will be directly responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a highly automated build and install process. Lead the application teams in adopting the best practice of source code management and traceability. Establish and maintain change management infrastructure (Subversion). Develop and maintain build scripts (Ant). Initial troubleshooting of build failures, coordination of resolution efforts and communication with appropriate team members.

Responsibilities:
• Merging, versioning, packaging of applications in preparation of installation.
• Manage application deployment for complex projects in a clustered, load-balanced, service-oriented environment.
• Establish an automated process for running smoke tests to validate success of installs.
• Initial troubleshooting of build failures, coordination of resolution efforts and communication with appropriate team members.

• Bring even more excitement, energy, and new ways of doing things to Marin.

Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in automation build and release techniques for Java applications.
• Source control management utilizing Subversion. Build tools such as Apache Ant.
• Continuous Integration tools like Hudson.
• Solid core Java knowledge and strong familiarity with Java Enterprise Edition configuration and tuning.
• Comfortable with command line Unix and experience with CentOS (rpm) and Ubuntu (debian) based packaging.

Compensation
Full-time salaried position – compensation dependent on prior experience. Marin pays market-leading compensation for top performers. Position includes equity participation, Marin pays 100% of comprehensive benefits (healthcare, vision, dental) and 50% of commuting cost are expensed. This is an onsite position at Marin Software's headquarters in San Francisco's financial district (2 blocks from BART). Contract-to-hire applicants are OK.
