DESCRIPTION
This position is located within the Controls Engineering group at Vigilent. You’ll play a key role in designing high-reliability, low-level embedded control and communications code that drives our wireless, mesh network-based sensors and controllers. Expect a fast-paced environment, with an opportunity to make key contributions and inventions that advance the state of the art in energy management and dynamic cooling control.
You will develop embedded software to manage microcontroller-based data acquisition and device control applications in a mission-critical environment, with ultimate focus on high reliability, high resiliency, and failsafe operation. Your technology will reside on Vigilent-designed hardware, interacting with applications in a distributed client-server environment powered by our advanced artificial intelligence (AI) engine for applications involving real-time monitoring and control related to energy efficiency.
You will work closely with the core technology and applications software teams to turn customer needs into elements of exceptional product design. You should have an appreciation for the importance of rigorously-designed and reliable software intended for mission-critical applications; the collection of Big Data; and the complex interactions of real-time control processes with a variety of third-party equipment in an industrial environment.
You will have responsibility for technical design and implementation, with end-to-end responsibilities for developing and maintaining our technology base. You will interface with Product Marketing, Core Technologies and Applications Software Engineering, and Quality Assurance.
The position is based in our El Cerrito office.
