We have helped pioneer the market for online family history research, taking a pursuit that was expensive and time-consuming and making it easy, affordable and accessible to anyone with an interest in their family history. The foundation of our service is an extensive collection of billions of historical records that we have digitized, indexed and put online over the past 13 years. Our growth requires us to locate a key Chief Database Architect for our firm.
Chief Database Architect can be based in Utah, SF, or Virtual location
( Technical Architect and Accomplished leader)
- 10+ years of experience with BS/MS/Phd in the software industry with considerable background in database architecture
-Individual must have a strong understanding of programming with ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#, IIS, and .NET framework 3.0 and higher.
- Database Architecture experience (Data modeling, concurrent environments, data redundancy, high availability, distributed networking models, performance and scalability, API and interface development, stateless development, etc.) Must have worked with very high transactional, scalability demands successfully
-Must have strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and TSQL is a must. (Oracle, Sybase, MySql, distributed hash tables, distributed caches, etc.)
-Recent experience administering SQL Server 2005/2008 in a high-volume, high-availability, large database environment. "High-volume" is defined as at least one server consistently running over 2000 transactions/second and/or 4000 batches/second. "High-availability" is defined as servers that must remain operational 24x7x365 with a requirement of at least 99.9% uptime. "Large database" is defined as at least one database being at least 2 TB in size and/or a single table having at least 2 billion rows.
- Leadership – Demonstrated success as a strategic business and technology leader. Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated leader and motivator of people.
-Team performance – Able to work and communicate effectively across all functions and serve as the voice of a key leader within the organization.
-Team building – Proven track record of attracting, recruiting, retaining, and mentoring world-class engineering talent
