Position Title: Director – Product Development

The successful candidate will join a team of talented, driven, self starting, passionate engineers who are dedicated to software development as a career and as art.
We are looking for an individual who will exhibit an intuitive sense of efficiency and software aesthetics. As with any early stage company, this person should be willing and able to absorb lots of new information and adapt to change. This individual should be comfortable with abstraction and isolation of software components, serving quality and simplicity first.
We are looking for someone with a strong sense of ownership for their work including high quality and meeting predetermined requirements. In addition to a strong commitment to the current projects, this individual should have motivation for ongoing self-improvement, education, learning, evolving and maintaining best practices as they evolve.
Job Responsibilities:
• Project Management
• Setting up (or managing setup) of PM tools and ongoing improvements
• Setting up (or managing setup) of automated test/build(/deploy) tools and ongoing improvements
• Partnering on product roadmap with CTO and CCO.
• Architecting and supporting architecting of systems
• Hands on development in C++ and other language as required.
• Partnering in setting up initial operations during pilot and rollouts
• Hiring and managing most of the spot software contractors .
• Managing product development when CTO/Head of PD is absent.
• Research and recommend technologies.
• Participate in the design of features/solutions
• Innovate and implement game and network features
• Develop quality software and meet project delivery schedules
• Implement unit tests were possible
• Maintain own work under source control best practices
• Participate in code reviews and supporting peers troubleshoot
• Introduce and educate team on agile practices while bringing those practices into the organization.
Job Qualifications:
13-20+ years experience in:
• C++ and/or JAVA development
• Networking and Web technologies
• Management of contractors and teams
• Bring best practices to software development
• unit testing and test driven design
• Scrum Master Certification
Additional expertise in at least 6 of the following areas:Javascript, HTML, Java, PHP, Windows Installer, MySQL/NoSQL/PostGres, Facebook Connect, OpenSocial, Facebook Apps, Firefox AddOns, Bamboo/Visual Team Server/or similar build/test suite, 3D mathematics, Direct X 9-11, Shaders and advanced rendering techniques, Internet Explorer AddOns, Interprocess Communication, Web Analytics, Jira
Additional Skills
• BS or MS in CS or equivalent education or experience
• Ability to work within a structured development environment and follow practices as they mature.
• Experience and ongoing interest in Scrum, Kanban or other Agile project managements frameworks
