Title: Social Media Project Manager
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+ months contract, renewed quarterly
Job Responsibilities Include:
* Manages multiple large scale, complex & concurrent projects
* Requires cross-geographic / cross-team collaboration.
* Coordinates assignments/deliverables between project team members and External vendor resources
* Works with stakeholders to formulate and define project scope and objectives; and to prioritize/finalize project requirements and deliverables.
* Plans and directs project team activities, project schedules/milestones, deliverables, cost estimates, quality requirements and overall project plan.
* Monitors and communicates progress of project to all stakeholders as required.
* Leads all negotiations/mediations to resolve project conflicts/issues.
* Identifies, analyzes and develops risk response/mitigation plans.
* Implements integrated change control process to review and gain decisions on project schedule changes and supplemental resourcing/funding requests.
* Conducts regular project status meetings and Creates/Maintains project archives and project wikis.
* Continuously manages project stakeholder expectations.
Required Skills Include:
* Computer Science or Software Engineering major with Bachelors or Masters Degree and/or 8 to 10+ years of relevant experience.
* Must have a proven track record for successful delivery of web/mobility solutions within Enterprise-IT and ASP hosted environments
* Expertise working cross functionally across teams and geographic locations.
* Experience with managing vendors, defining their deliverables and ensuring on time delivery.
* Proven capability to quickly understand new/emerging technologies and their appropriate implementations to complete project deliverables
* Familiarity with Web 2.0 (Social Media) Concepts: Communities, Forums, Blogs, Wikis, IM, Video Conferencing
* 8 to 10+ years experience in Web Application/Technical Project Management, hands on experience working with analysts, developers, and QA engineers.
* Well organized and effective communication skills through PowerPoint slides and Strong presentation skills.
* Collaborate with project teams to develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Overall Project Plans
* Experience as a project contributor within technical teams, having experience within is a plus.
* Ability to identify & analyze complex program or systems requirements.
* Ability to effectively communicate how technology solutions can address business issues.
* Experience with adherence to governance practices.
* Proven capabilities to implement Agile/Iterative/Waterfall project lifecycle methodologies
* Excellent leadership, management, communication, influencing, negotiation, conflict resolution, team building, and problem solving skills.
* Requires flexible work schedule to manage cross geographic collaboration.
Desired Skills
* Implementation experience with Jive Social Business Software (SBS) products and solutions
* Familiarity with Portal Technologies: Websphere Portal, LifeRay, etc.
* Knowledge of Software Test Automation Techniques.
* Experience with Global Content Distribution / System Performance Testing solutions (Akamai, Gomez, etc)
