We are looking for an Operations Infrastructure Engineer being a key contributor to Proximic´s core team, who knows that no matter how you slice it, cloud computing is an essential future. Work with us to create game-changing products for the advertising data space, which have immediate market impact. This position is full-time and based in our main office in downtown Palo Alto, CA.

Responsibilities
• Design, plan capacity, implement, and operate simple, scalable and reliable system infrastructure components supporting a fast growth hosted service
• Manage a LAMP and Java environment in an international, 24-7/always-on, multi-site cloud infrastructure
• Respond to spinning up additional servers and infrastructure as needed for partner evaluation/testing/production
• Ensure proper security, monitoring, alerting, and reporting including interaction with the core team regarding service infrastructure performance, reliability effects and our ability to match our stated objectives in providing the service to our customers
• Provide feedback to the team from system performance, scalability, reliability, and operational perspective
• Proactively work with the development team (engineering and product) to understand the future requirements and scalability needs required to support the evolution of our service as well as the needs of our partners.

Requirements
• B.S. in Computer Science (or related field), or equivalent experience
• 5+ years experience with hands on experience building private cloud computing environments; 3+ years hands on experience with public cloud computing environments and related infrastructure (such as AWS-EC2, GoGrid)
• 5+ years experience with Linux (including heavy systems administration experience)
• Ability to work proficiently with little daily guidance with painstaking attention to detail and thoroughness
• Must have mature seasoned skills and approach when working with production system (incl. developing and maintaining processes, tools, and documentation)
• Demonstrable hands-on experience in a full lifecycle of administrative tasks such as building a server, administration, configuration and rollout
• Strong background in troubleshooting large scale, high volume services with multiple dynamic components including web servers, SQL databases, Java application servers
• Structured thinker, effective communicator, excellent analytic skills
• Experience with open source monitoring and alerting systems (munin, nagios, etc.)
• Responsive to the needs of a fast paced startup environment
• Highly self motivated, proactive, hardworking innovator with a "team-first" attitude (must check ego at the door)
