Senior Network Systems Administrator
San Diego, CA
Description:
Sony Network Entertainment has an immediate opening for a Senior Network Systems Administrator who will function as a member of an operations team to provide integration, maintenance, administration and planning for the department´s development and production network and data delivery systems in support of service delivery for consumer digital video products.  This individual will work in a focused team environment with internal development groups as well as external technology & subsystems providers.  The position requires at times extended evening and weekend availability.

Qualifications:
*A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or related discipline is required.  *In lieu of degree, candidate must have 7+ years of directly related experience with a minimum of 3 years of direct, progressive experience in the integration, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of digital data networks and data centers, preferably with high availability, enterprise level systems associated with streaming audio or video content delivery.  *Experience with network operations support, integration of new or existing infrastructures, performing and reviewing system tests, implementing routing, bridging, server and network/data security policies meeting established specifications, test requirements and integration plans to implement new system architectures is a requirement.  This includes the configuration of network equipment such as routers, bridges, switches, hubs, servers, and gateways.  *The individual must have direct experience in multi-protocol networks involving at a minimum TCPIP, UDP and ATM.   *Direct experience with the configuration, administration and maintenance of Linux-based and Windows-based servers is also required.  *Previous direct experience with system performance testing, script development, LAMP architectures, Java, SQL and XML is preferred.  Also experience in the integration and operation of high availability, enterprise level data centers and networks.   *A background in cable television, telephone, video or other communications networks is highly desirable, as is a current GROL or Extra Class amateur radio license issued by the FCC.
*Japanese or other foreign language skills are desirable  *Ability to work flexible hours and travel domestically and internationally as needed
