ENGINEERING MANAGER (Dongguan, China)
Our long term client, Acorn Product Development, is a top innovator in Product Design and Engineering for Global Manufacturability. They have offices in Silicon Valley, Boston and China. Fortune 100, 500 and numerous hot start-ups, retain this client company to participate in the design of their newest offerings. Acorn focuses its design talents on Consumer Products, Computing, Medical Devices and Networking Products.
This key management position is located in Acorn's China office and reports to the CTO in Silicon Valley (Fremont, CA, USA.)
FOR THIS JOB, YOU NEED:
BSME, required
MSME, desirable
8+ years of Mechanical Engineering Experience
3+ years of Management Experience
Hands-on Technical Project Management of at least 3 full product development cycles (from conception to production) of high volume tooled product(s)
Good Working Knowledge of Engineering Analyses, E/M Design and Common Manufacturing Processes
Knowledge of Regulatory Agency Certifications/Approvals (such as Safety & EMI)
WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE:
Excellent Interpersonal/People Management Skills (at all levels of hierarchy)
Good Command of English Language (Verbal & Written)
Bilingual in Mandarin is a huge plus
Work History in Smaller Companies (Desirable)
Proficiency in Pro/E and SolidWorks
Experience with Project Management Tools (MS Project, etc.)
Vision, Ability to Understand/Implement Company Strategy into Working Plans
for the China Office
Proven Success Working with Clients/Vendors & Consultants
IN THIS JOB, YOU WILL:
Manage the Acorn China Office Engineering Team
Represent Acorn to its Clients/Suppliers and Other Groups
Lead Engineering Teams to Design/Develop a Variety of Products (Concept Through Production) of Desktop/Portable Computers, Instrumentation/Medical Equipment/Communication & Consumer Products
KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS WILL BE:
Managing Client/Supplier Relationships
Managing Supplier Sourcing/Production Support
