This role is for a Senior Software Engineer for Clustered Storage with strong experience in RAID and SCSI technologies. We prefer technical leaders who can help us to drive the current and future requirements of Omneon storage solutions. The successful candidates will be involved in design and implementation of architectural innovation in the distributed file system software running on Linux servers. We require candidates who understand and practice software development disciplines focusing on product availability, usability, serviceability, manageability, and performance.

Responsibilities:
- Define scopes and delivery schedules for current and future requirements of Omneon distributed file systems
- Work with development staff, architects, and other technical leads to scope new requirements and create development plans for product enhancements
- Work with QA and development engineers to track quality issues and implement plans to resolve issues according to priorities and project schedules
- Ensure all deliverables are completed within acceptable quality and architectural standard
- Following best practices for software projects and delivery

Required Job Skills:
- Self driven, highly motivated, highly skilled senior software engineer capable of designing and implementing complex software solutions
- Minimum of BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of File system development experience and proven track record of working on complex solutions and, high-performance architectures
- 5-10 years of UNIX and/or Linux system level development experience
- Fundamental understanding of embedded software architecture and development
- Strong working knowledge of PCI, Serial ATA (SATA), Serial SCSI(SAS) protocols.
- Strong working knowledge of key RAID concepts: striping, caching, parity, failure & recovery, redundancy, and performance.
- Strong understanding of storage solutions based on NAS and/or SAN technologies and clustering solutions for availability
- Demonstrated software development and engineering design skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Record of on-time delivery of products
- Hand-on and operational. Ability to deal with complex projects and stay on top of all the details.
- High-energy
- Results oriented and pragmatic
- Flexible and responsive. Has the ability to react quickly to changing business, product and customer needs while maintaining the course
- Can operate out of ambiguity, deal with lack of complete information and move forward
- Technical depth – able to engage with peers, provide guidance, develop a sense of proportion and prioritize
- Good sense of business and customers who understand that the mission is to address customer needs and not just build a product

Years of Direct Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years of File system development experience and proven track record of working on complex solutions and, high-performance architectures
- 5-10 years of UNIX and/or Linux system level development experience

Educational Requirements:
Minimum of BS in Computer Science or equivalent
