Job Description:
The Software Engineer is responsible for the design and development of major Intacct features and functionality. The engineer will work as a key member of an engineering team consisting of a highly experienced Team Lead and a Quality Assurance (QA) Lead. The Software Engineer is responsible for technical design and development as well as overall consistency and quality of the final solution.
Software Engineers will understand the implications of their design and engineering decisions, and will be responsible for discussing important or difficult decisions with their team, ensuring that the tradeoffs are considered. Software Engineers will participate in the evaluation of others' work as part of the engineering-wide code review process.
Intacct is built on a scalable, extensible platform that enables rapid application development. Software Engineers help to create these benefits and ensure that major projects can be reliably built on this architecture.
Major features and enhancements often involve a deep understanding of the financial and accounting implications of the changes that will result, including the impact on reports and usage.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work among a small team to design and develop major features and enhancements
• Work with Product Management to understand design and feature tradeoffs
• Design scalable and repeatable solutions within each major feature and enhancement
• Work with other engineers to ensure code quality and review
• Work with QA to ensure the quality of the features, including the creation and maintenance of test cases
Job Requirements:
• BS in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years software engineering experience
• Experience developing Internet applications
• Hands-on coding ability in web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, DHTML and application frameworks such as Java, LAMP, or .Net
• SQL skills and understanding of database/data modeling concepts, experience with Oracle is a plus
• Strong analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication skills
