[KITlist-Tech] User Experience (UX) Designer | Tidepool (San Francisco, CA)

Please direct your responses to: web@hiwire.com

Tidepool (www.tidepool.org) is changing the world for people living with Type 1 diabetes. Design and user experience is at the core everything we do: we believe that beautiful, intuitive, actionable user-centered design is what empowers people living with T1D.

Our design team is small but we move quickly and have big impact. We are passionate about disrupting the vertical and closed world of medical data and devices with delightful interactions. We are looking for a great UX Designer to join us on our mission.

Primary Responsibilities

• You'll be an integral part of the Tidepool team collaborating closely on current and future web and mobile applications.

• Conducting in-person interviews and user tests, to determine the functionality and experiences we need delight and empower our users.

• Defining and iterating upon interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications.

• Working closely with our product and front-end engineering teams we will constantly experiment, iterate on, and improve Tidepool's products.

• Communicating scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and designs to all internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborating closely with our product, design and engineering teams to iterate upon both concept prototypes and production software.

Ideal Qualifications

A BA/BS or higher in design, user experience or human-computer interaction.

• 3 or more years of industry experience, delivering inspiring web and mobile user experiences for consumers.

• Expertise with UX software such as Sketch, InVision, Balsamiq and Framer. The ability to craft HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript is a big plus.

• Experience in UX design best practices to design solutions, including a deep understanding of mobile and responsive web design.

• A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, including usability and accessibility.

• You're scrappy, self-driven, and have a point of view and desire to continue learning new ways to express yourself and your ideas.

• Knowledge or experience with the unique challenges of Type 1 diabetes is a plus, but open eyes and ears and a strong empathic gene will also do just fine.

This is a full-time role. Tidepool is located at 450 Townsend Street in San Francisco, very close to Caltrain. You would be expected to come into the office 2-4 times per week. The other days you could work from home.

If this sounds like an interesting opportunity, please e-mail your resume to our recruiter Web Augustine (web@hiwire.com). Thanks!
