Senior Technical Writer needed for a long term direct client project. *Local candidates with Local Experience preferred due to in person interviewing. (Local = San Francisco Bay Area). *

Responsibilities:

Being a member of the Information Security Compliance team that drives increasing maturity of the Information Security Management System for a business unit. You will determine the needs of technical documentation in support of processes, security education and awareness, compliance evidence and artifacts, and documentation related to security policies and practices. You will work with technical subject matter experts to develop, design, and implement improved business processes or solutions for large-scale, client-driven operations. Contribute to make documentation, in support of processes and compliance artifacts, easier to understand through the organizing and writing of supporting compliance documents. You will use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase understanding and select appropriate medium for messaging and communication. You will work to standardize and normalize content for use across platforms, tools, and projects.

As a member of the team, you will assist in the documentation and artifacts necessary for implementing and sustaining the ISO27001, Security programs, for security management efforts, for obtaining authorization and continuous monitoring activities, and any additional compliance frameworks as necessary.

Required Skills/Experience:

•10+ years of Technical Writing/Documentation experience creating regular deliverables (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for security awareness, training and communications.

•Ability to create and track fiscal year planning with roadmap, create and track metrics.

•Experience at drafting, editing, reviewing, and/or updating policies, standards, procedures, and addendums in alignment with NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001/2, SOC Type II (SSAE16), HITrust, and any other applicable information security requirements annually.

•Skilled at collaborating with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to identify and address gaps in security related documentation with each document or artifact.

•Ability to manage the documentation remediation activities working with subject matter experts to drive to resolution.

•Skilled at collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance content is standardized and normalized for use across multiple platforms, tools, and projects.

•Experience with maintaining control matrix, compliance, testing, audit and remediation data in compliance tools.
