Senior Content Developer Engineer, Hypervisor & Multicore (Ottawa, Canada)
Wind River, the world leader in embedded and mobile software, is looking for a Senior Content Developer Engineer. The person in this position will be responsible for capturing advanced technical topics from subject matter expert, analyzing the content, to define and design of advanced use cases for customers focusing on how our customers will be using our products and solutions to solve their technical problems. Those use cases will then be used by Wind River technical publication team to produce technical training material for internal and external use, as well as other type of technical publication such as user guides, reference manuals, etc…
The ideal candidate must be a team player who can accomplish goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a strong communicator, great writing skills, and a track record of proven success in analyzing, articulating, and solving complex embedded challenges.
Primary responsibility will be:
• Understanding advanced technical solutions that involve embedded operating systems and multicore.
• Developing and maintaining well defined technical use case, and training materials for different groups
• Staying current with relevant leading-edge embedded software technologies to your area of work
• Supporting a growing organization that includes sales operations specialists, qualified instructors, engineers, and technical publications writers.
• Participate in requirement gathering, design and code reviews of customer facing material
Qualifications:
• BA/BSc degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree)
• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in the areas of software engineering, and/or sales engineering, with 3+ years of experience in development of embedded software.
• Power user competency on at least two operating systems, at both device drivers, and application levels. (VxWorks and Embedded Linux)
• Strong understanding of at list one of the following embedded hardware architectures: Intel IA, Power, MIPS, and ARM
• Ability to create and explain C-code examples or pseudo code models
• Ability to explain highly technical material to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to communicate with principal engineers on advance technology
• Proficient with MS Office
• Some experience in a scripting language such as TCL or Python is an advantage.
• Strong problem solving skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Desire and ability to master new technologies
• Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative situations
• Self managed, fast-learner, and some project-management capabilities/skills
Desired Qualifications:
• 1 year of experience developing using virtualization technologies such as KVM, Hypervisor, etc…
• Experience with development of kernel and user space level in a multicore (SMP/AMP) systems is desired

Up to 10%
