Senior Member of Technical Staff Engineer – Team Lead, Emerging Technologies
(Ottawa, Canada)
Wind River, the world leader in embedded and mobile software, is looking for a Senior Content Developer Engineer for a team leader position. The person in this position will be responsible for capturing advanced technical topics from subject matter expert, analyzing the content, to define and design of advanced use cases for customers focusing on how our customers will be using our products and solutions to solve their technical problems.
We are looking for an energetic engineer who sees problems as interesting solutions and is able to find new and creative ideas for our customers. The ideal candidate must have good product management experience, the ability to multi-task and lead a team of engineers to accomplish timely tasks in concert with other teams.
Primary responsibility will be:
• Understanding advanced technical solutions that involve embedded operating systems and multicore.
• Designing, architecting, developing and maintaining well defined technical use cases and training materials for different groups
• Managing a small team of highly qualified engineers
• Finding creative functional and technical solutions to unusual show-stopping problems
• Supporting a growing organization that includes sales operations specialists, qualified instructors, engineers, and technical publications writers.
• Participate in requirement gathering, design and code reviews of customer facing material
Qualifications:
• BA/BSc degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree)
• Proven record as a technical team leader
• Good project management skills. Self managed and fast learner.
• Ability to analyze complex technical scenarios and articulate a traceable solution.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and resolve differences
• Excellent understanding of software architecture and software project life-cycle
• 3-5 years of relevant technical experience in the areas of software engineering, and/or sales engineering, with 1-3 years of experience in development of embedded software.
• Power user competency on at least two operating systems, at both device drivers, and application levels. (VxWorks and Embedded Linux)
• Strong understanding of at list one of the following embedded hardware architectures: Intel IA, Power, MIPS, and ARM
• Ability to explain highly technical material to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to communicate with principal engineers on advance technology
• Proficient with MS Office
• Some experience in a scripting language such as TCL or Python is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
• 1 year of experience developing using virtualization technologies such as KVM, Hypervisor, etc…
• Experience with development of kernel and user space level in a multicore (SMP/AMP) systems is desired

Up to 10%
