Responsibility: Perform testing and assist in 5010 transaction cutover activities with all Trading Partners.
CONTRACTOR ENGAGEMENT DETAILS
• Temporary, full-time contract engagement.
• Engagement duration (start/end dates); with a possibility of an extension:
• Approximately August 1st, 2011 through February 3, 2012
• Location: Hospital Data Center – Phoenix is preferred (remote candidates will be considered)
• Travel expectations with reasonable expenses to be reimbursed
• Local <25%, Remote up to 50%
• Contractor can be located out of the Phoenix area (anywhere in US), but MUST be willing to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ
SSI/HIPAA Trading Partner Analyst
The purpose of these contract roles are to bring the hospital to HIPAA 5010 Compliance and conduct Trading Partner testing. The SSI/HIPAA Trading Partner Analyst will be responsible for the testing and cutover of x12 transactions (837, 835, 270, 271, 276, 277, 278) between the hospital billing systems, clearing houses, and trading partners.

1. Significant hands-on experience with HIPAA X12 transactions and transaction processing, e.g. claims, remittance advice, enrollment/eligibility, etc.
2. In-depth knowledge of testing procedures and protocols (Unit testing, Integration testing, Functional Testing, and User Acceptance testing).
3. Understanding of HIPAA 4010A1 and of the impacts to IT PRC systems as a result of the HIPAA 5010 regulations.

1. Detail and process-oriented, exhibiting excellent judgment, critical problem-solving and analytical skills, deploying industry "best-practices"/methods.

What specific tasks will you be doing with these skills?
1. Analyze and test various HIPAA 5010 X12 transactions produced from/received by patient accounting, eligibility, billing and payment posting systems with the Trading Partners to verify compliancy and Trading Partner acceptance including:
2. Participate in testing activities (update key testing artifacts/versions and results; participate in testing meetings/reviews; go-live events).
3. Drive troubleshooting activities when tests identify issues with the transactions.
4. Act as liaison between business users, technical users, system analysts, integration analysts, vendors and Trading Partners during testing, troubleshooting, resolution and cutover processes.
5. Review, contribute to, and/or author project documentation as needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze and test various HIPAA 5010 X12 transactions produced from/received by patient accounting, eligibility, billing and payment posting systems with the Trading Partners to verify compliancy and Trading Partner acceptance including:

o 837 (I, P and D)
o 835
o 276/277
o 278
• Participate in testing activities (update key testing artifacts/versions and results; participate in testing meetings/reviews; go-live events).
• Drive troubleshooting activities when tests identify issues with the transactions.
• Perform "root-cause" analysis as required.
• Resolve issues associated with the testing and/or cutover.
• Act as liaison between business users, technical users, system analysts, integration analysts, vendors and Trading Partners during testing, troubleshooting, resolution and cutover processes.
• Execute test and cutover implementation plans.
• Contribute to coordination with technical and project management team members.
• Review, contribute to, and/or author project documentation as needed.
• Apply all hospital standards, methods, and tools to execute and document the testing activities.
• Recommend opportunities for improvements including methods.
• Engage in other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years experience working in an acute hospital environment.
• 2+ years experience as active lead in full life-cycle testing within a healthcare environment including billing and claims functionality.
• Experience working in a payer environment a plus.

2. Knowledge of SSI applications (ClickOn, e-Verify, Harp), integration, and EDITS for providers and payers.
