Job 133541: Software Development Manager, Subsidiary Integration
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Zero Mass Engineering (ZME), part of the Amazon.com, Inc. group of companies, develops software for self-publishing companies. We build innovative solutions for independent publishing, on-demand manufacturing, and digital distribution.
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a team of highly skilled engineers in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California near Cal Poly University.
This team works with companies both in the US and internationally, on high-value integration projects helping them leverage each other´s technology. You will have opportunities to learn a wide range of new technologies, work with a dynamic group of other engineers and businesses, and may have a chance to do a little traveling. If you´re more excited to finding new solutions to old problems rather than wearing a pager to support a years-old code base, you´ll find this an interesting job.
BASIS QUALIFICIATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 2+ years people management experience
• Experience with OOD and object oriented languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Deep hands-on technical expertise
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong business and technical vision
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
• Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
Zero Mass Engineering, part of the Amazon.com, Inc. group of companies, is an equal opportunity employer. ZME is located in San Luis Obispo, CA.
