This is a 3 to 6 month contract to hire position

Please note: The most important skills for this role are Java, NoSQL stores, big data processing frameworks, data collection and aggregation frameworks and search engine technologies

Senior Software Engineer Platform & Infrastructure Description

Requirements:
• Extensive experience in back-end software design and development
• Understands software engineering as a craft & what it take to get systems production-ready
• Experience with Linux-based, large-scale, distributed, web applications from front to back
• Production experience with Java with a strong emphasis on coding principles, performance, design patterns, algorithms and data structures
• Ability to evangelize new technologies that make our product better in better/faster/cheaper ways
• Strong experience with one or more technologies like:
• Non-relational (NoSQL) stores like Cassandra, MongoDb or similar
• Big data processing frameworks like Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig or similar
• Large scale data collection and aggregation frameworks like Flume, Scribe or similar.
• Search engine technologies like SOLR/Lucene.
• Good communication skills

Bonus:
• Familiarity with Amazon EC2 and related services
• MS/PHD in Computer Science
