The Streetline Director of Technical Operations is responsible for design, development, deployment, and operations of our SaaS solution for enterprise and consumer parking built on Ruby-on-Rails and Python.
Our system spans embedded sensor hardware, mesh networking, and signal processing all the way up to Cloud-based SaaS/web and mobile user applications -- this position calls for very strong systems thinking, technical breadth and creative innovations well beyond the typical web or desktop applications.
A successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in server and data center management; network and data center capacity planning, process development and deployment, operations, and troubleshooting and will display a balance of operational conservatism and business progressivism with solid leadership, communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
This individual will be building and improving the foundation that supports the rest of the company. You will be involved early in product development to make operations an integrated part of the overall Streetline solution. Streetline utilizes Agile processes such as SCRUM for development and deployment.
Technical operations experience should include:
• Configuration management tools such as: Chef, CFengine, and Puppet
• Monitoring systems such as: Nagios, Zenoss, Cacti, Smokeping and Ganglia
• Operating systems including Ubuntu Linux 8.04 through 10.10, MacOS X 10, and Windows
• Scripting & programming including: Bash shell, Python, Perl, and Ruby/RoR
• Databases including: MySQL 5.1 and the InnoDB storage engine.
