deCarta is changing the game in Location-Based Services (LBS) and mobile local search by democratizing the ecosystem of operating systems, ad networks, mapping content, and branding. deCarta has an immediate need for a Senior Network / System Administrator join our Operations team. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Primary responsibilities include:
As part of the operations team, this position is responsible for developing and enforcing a comprehensive security policy. The selected candidate will build, deploy and support a highly reliable, scalable and secure production Linux and Cisco/Juniper based infrastructure; develop processes and informational documentations. In addition, will monitor and apply troubleshooting techniques to identify the root cause for hardware and software related issues. Install, configure and support network systems. Must be available for on-call production issues.
Required Skills and Expertise:
• Software load balancers, such as IPVS/LVS, HAProxy
• Dynamic routing protocols, BGP, OSPF, RIP
• Knowledge, and experience with these pieces of gear:
• Vyatta 3.3.X
• Cisco ASA/PIX
• Cisco Catalyst 2650/3750
• Cisco CSS/ACE
• Juniper EX-Series
• Understanding of layer 1-3 network design, and implementation
• Understanding of the following protocols: TCP, HTTP, Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6 OSPF, BGP, RIP, DHCP, FTP, SMTP, 802.3ad, 802.1q
• Familiarity with following tools: Syslog, SSH, MySQL, OpenVPN, BASH, Nagios, Wireshark, NFS, Rsync
• Heavily experienced Linux distributions, including Redhat Linux 4.X, and 5.X
• The ability to troubleshoot blackbox situations
• The ability to audit and verify existing installations
• The ability to occasionally lift 30 pounds
Position Requirements:
• Experience supporting SaaS Services, including solid experience managing high availability, high growth, SaaS applications.
• Strong ability to document processes in a clear and easily understood method
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application and/or infrastructure related problems
• A sound understanding of business processes.
• Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience:
• We prefer 5 or more years of related experience
• Related Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired
