Sr. Alfresco/Java Engineer
A great opportunity exists for a Sr. Alfresco/Java Engineer who specializes in installing, configuring and extending the Alfresco software platform for our Software Development Group. Primary tasks will be to maintain, improve and deliver the customized Alfresco instances hosted in our Amazon EC2 Linux environment. Additional tasks will include evaluating upgrades and patches, working with Alfresco support to provide fixes to field issues found, developing policies and procedures to prevent data loss, design and development of tools and APIs to integrate with the Alfresco servers, and creation of webscripts to extend the search, workflow and repository functions within Alfresco.
The ideal candidate should have a strong desire to work across the full development cycle including design/planning, development, integration, testing and maintenance. Candidate will spend most of his/her time working to ensure the Alfresco services are available and functioning, as well as providing improvements and bugfixes to an existing system built on the Alfresco platform. Additionally, must be able to produce creative solutions to complex problems using a variety of development resources/tools. Experience using Alfresco in an EC2 environment on Linux will be key.
Required Skills & Experience
• The candidate should possess a BS in computer science or an equivalent degree.
• 2+ years writing customizations to the Alfresco Digital Asset Management system, particularly to the webscript, search, repository, transformer and workflow libraries.
• 6+ years of Object Oriented Software Development (JAVA/C++/C#)
• 4+ years server side experience developing and coding to SOAP and/or REST APIs
• 2+ years Linux development experience
• 1+ years experience working with a cloud computing provider, particularly Amazon EC2 and S3 platforms
• 2+ years using SQL scripts to retrieve and search relational data; familiarity with either MySQL or SQL Server
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Experience with Source Control and Bug Tracking Tools (specifically Subversion and JIRA).
• Strong desire to "wear many hats" and work in the area of server maintenance and software development
• Demonstrated ability to commit to and meet committed deadlines
• Experience in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Excellent time management, written & verbal communications (English), decision making, presentation, and strong people skills.
• Excellent technical judgment and problem-solving skills
• Flexible, agile attitude demonstrating strategic thinking while getting the job done timely and efficiently
• Other duties as directed or required
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Experience leading a small software development team to design and implement a complex feature set.
• 1+ years of integration or configuration of Point of Sale Technology (preferably Xpient, Radiant, Micros or Par)
• Alfresco Certifications
• Java Certifications
• Experience complying with PCI - DSS standards as it relates to maintaining Linux servers
