Waverley Program Manger â€"

Waverley is a “work for hire” software services company. As a program manager, you will coordinate, facilitate and manage software projects for one or more of our customers. The majority of all development work is performed in Romania. Our clients are mainly US-based, many in the SF Bay Area. Our customers occupy the spectrum from small, venture-capital-funded, high-tech start-ups to large, mid-western, non-tech manufacturing companies and everything in between. Each customer has a different level of management need so identifying the correct degree of involvement is key to being successful in this role. This will be a contractor-based, part-time role that can grow to a full-time contract and potentially full-time employment for proven excellence.

Some duties of this role include:
- Facilitating and driving the customer to make trade off decisions between quality, costs, resources, scope and time.
- Working with all the stakeholders to define and execute the project.
- Managing all changes and issues with the stakeholders.
- Providing or coordinating all project artifacts, including specifications, schedules, releases, etc.
- Planning for risk and developing strategies for dealing with them.
- Recommending appropriate processes and policies but deferring to the customer when necessary and then driving the team to follow the required process.
- Providing program status and maintaining the communication infrastructure.
- Undertaking early release definition and scope negotiation.

Required skills and experience:
- Experience with offshore teams.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and other software processes.
- Familiarity with common development tools such as Bugzilla, SVN, Jira, Pivotal, etc.
- BS in CS or equivalent.
- 10 or more years of experience with software development projects.
- Engineering Program Management or Development Engineering Management experience a plus.
