[KITlist-Tech] Instructional Designer/Retail Trainer (Cupertino, CA)

We are seeking well-qualified contract Instructional Designers (ID) for our leading high tech client.

The ID will be responsible for developing and managing training materials for our Fortune 200 client's retail employees.

Requires solid instructional design skills that map to the quality demands of the 21st century adult learner, particularly Generation Y. Demands working knowledge of traditional instructional design principles as well as an innovative and creative approaches. The scope of work is global in nature so this project requires experience designing and writing for global audiences. The ID will be expected to set creative standards for a blended approach to delivery, including classroom learning, on-line learning, podcasts, interactive video, just-in-time learning and assessment tools.

The ID must also have the experience and knowledge of working with retail environments. The ID should be experienced with leader-led training as well as e-learning methods. Must also be able to revisit older teaching materials and pinpoint areas to update to newer standards and methods.

The ID is a competent project manager capable of leading a collaborative development process while working closely with Creative teams, Corporate Market Support, Market Leaders, International/Regional trainers, Editors, and team members from retail stores. The ID must be able to lead a creative team, under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, innovative environment that demands high quality, creativity, and consistency.

The ideal candidate loves innovative technology products. The right candidate respects the challenges of retail staff and creates training that reflects a desire for them to increase their capacity, confidence and job satisfaction. Reports to the Senior Manager, Instructional Design.

Location: Onsite at Client H.Q. – S.F. Peninsula/Silicon Valley.

Consultant/Contractor Compensation: Depending on experience.

Duration: 1 year contract project.

MUST HAVE:

·5 plus years global instructional design experience creating innovative, blended learning Sales Training solutions

·Instructional design experience that includes developing both instructor-led and self-paced training delivered through a variety of methods including classroom, web, and mobile devices.

·5 plus years project management including leadership of creative teams to develop innovative course materials.

·Ability to create media-based elements to support classroom training activities.

·Knowledge of different consultative sales processes.

·Ability to facilitate collaborative, cross-functional decision-making processes.

·Exceptional ability to listen and build rapport with a wide range of cultures and personalities.

·Ability to apply needs assessment processes to determine the effectiveness of global training.

·Exceptional presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.

·Strong understanding and experience with the Mac platform.

·Availability for limited US/International travel.

·MA in instructional design, related discipline or equivalent work experience.

STRONGLY PREFER:

·Consumer electronics and consumer technology products knowledge.

·Graphic design, multimedia, and web development experience.

·Proficiency with training related data analysis.

·Experience working in a retail environment.

·Prior classroom experience teaching trainers to deliver training successfully to a variety of global audiences a plus.

·HTML 5 experience and App development a plus.
