Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining software test suites and test tools for file systems testing and coordinating with multi-disciplined project groups to achieve their goals. This position requires a highly competent, results-oriented, self-directed software testing professional with a strong programming background. Both junior and senior candidates, with pertinent skill sets, will be considered for this role.


The Quality Assurance Engineer is expected to be able to work with a variety of development environments and operating systems (Unix, Linux). The individual should be proficient in testing methodologies, programming and scripting languages, and various automation techniques.


Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to review a technical software or hardware specification in order to create a thorough test plan.
Responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of testing in accordance with test plan specifications.
Submission of detailed bug reports which provide enough debug information for the development teams to quickly resolve all product defects.
Assist in the development of tools which will be used to improve our test automation infrastructure.
Ensure that work meets or exceeds project performance, reliability, and quality goals.
Work closely with the development organization to ensure that products are testable and can be validated.
Mentor other test engineers and, where applicable, take the technical leadership role on specific projects.
Occasional travel



Requirements

5+ years QA experience
2+ years of work experience in testing a NAS or Enterprise Storage Device
Strong programming experience in C, Perl, Tcl/Tk, and Python are a must for this role
Experience in testing Unix file systems
Comfortable in an environment which utilizes Unix/Linux as the operating system of choice
Working knowledge of NFS, pNFS, or CIFS is highly desirable
Experience with Perforce is a plus
Thorough understanding of Software Development and QA processes, principles, and techniques
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of project teams
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
