As a Senior Software Developer in the FinancialForce Product Services development team, you will be involved in the design, development and release of customer specific solutions developed around the FinancialForce.com product line. You will develop, enhance and maintain software in accordance with the Force.com best practices as specified by Salesforce.com.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include requirements gathering, designing, coding, debugging, performance analysis, packaging and deployment to the customer. As well as being involved with customer deployments of the FinancialForce.com product line, partner product integrations and competitive benchmarking. Good communication and planning skills are required to ensure customer expectations are met.

This position requires someone who has great interpersonal skills to work with many different departments within the company including support, consulting, product management, and engineering. You will be developing high quality code that will be rolled out to live customer environments. You are comfortable developing in Java, .Net, or Apex; Apex would be ideal. The job is office based and involves working as a member of a project team building new functionality or enhancing existing functionality in line with FinancialForce.com's development program. Knowledge of the Agile methodology would be an advantage. Experience in developing packaged solutions sold to external customers is required.


There may be the need for occasional offsite meetings or visits. This job will require ad-hoc flexibility in working hours in order to support and liaise with the company's UK division, customers and technology partner Salesforce.com, as needed.

Knowledge and experience of complex enterprise applications and advanced OO patterns and architecture principles, such as database design and concurrent users
Working with the Product Owner, Business Analysts and Product Services Architect to develop software from a set of requirements that meet the individual customer expectations
Working collaboratively with the Product Services Architect
To assist with training other members of the broader FinancialForce.com development teams
Ensure all documentation is accurate and well written
Working within a framework of published standards and practices within the company.
The development of high quality software within agreed timescales
Work with Business Analysts providing technical advice and guidance
Assist customer support
Support of the operational business through adoption of new technologies and development of adhoc prototypes
Smooth throughput of various planned and unanticipated issues arising during the development phases
Ensure all software has adequate automated test coverage
Packaging for major and minor releases
Assist the recruitment process as well as training and mentoring new starters into the team
Influence process improvements

Required skills / experience:

8+ years experience developing Java or C# or other related languages
5+ years developing enterprise applications
4+ years experience in designing software applications
Skilled at analysing and solving problems
Understanding of application architecture principals
Proficiency in OO programming
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be a strong communicator with the ability to communicate clearly about ideas & designs both verbally and in writing
Understanding of data integration and web services
Strong communication skills with the R&D team members as well as with customers directly
Ability to communicate at various levels within an organisation both technical and none technical
Desired skills / experience
Managing time and projects
Experience developing on Force.com
Experience of requirements gathering directly with customers, problem solving and solution delivery
