Senior Business/Operations Research Analyst

Fusion-io is seeking a Senior Business/Operations Research Analyst in San Jose, California or Salt Lake City, Utah. The Senior Analyst will provide and oversee process analysis and the deployment of advanced data analytics and visualization deliverables throughout the Operations group.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for direct communication with key stakeholders and process owners to inventory, assess, and provide analytic deliverables in direct support of supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, and OEM support functions
- Develops forward thinking solutions that go beyond obvious summarization contexts and extend into the realm of prescriptive and predictive analytics
- Serves as Agile development thought leader by effectively balancing the development effort and the work of junior analysts
- Key accountability lies in executing and ensuring the data validation efforts of the Business Operations and Planning group are of the highest integrity
- Shows a strong ability to see below the superficial first layers of complex problem spaces—efficiently employs the tools which are appropriate to solve the problem at hand
- Defines, develops, and executes specific near-term and long-term plans and objectives
- Issues specific annual objectives to immediate subordinates and reviews objectives of the Business Operations and Planning team
- Identifies training needs, initiates development of subordinates, recommends effective personnel action

Skills/Qualifications/Education:

-Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience in the field. MBA preferred
-Extensive experience with enterprise data warehouse deployments (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL variants are a plus)
-Solid experience in exploratory data analysis and data quality assessment techniques
Established data analysis background in technology manufacturing, sales, and/or marketing contexts
- // Strong SQL background with a working knowledge of ETL and dimensional modeling concepts in mid to large size data warehousing environments // (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Expert level competency in Excel. Experience in Tableau data visualization platform strongly favored
- Direct experience leveraging scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, and/or R is a plus
- Practical experience in data mining within environments leveraging data generated from both sensor platforms and human-based processes
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking time management, problem-solving, communications and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills; strong team orientation; unrelenting work ethic
- Background in business operations, near-term planning and forecasting – -strong preference for candidate with established data analysis background in technology manufacturing contexts
- Enthusiastic, results oriented individual with a proven track record of success
